All routines for this assessment will be set at Beginner / Novice level (unless permission has been granted from the NBTA Technical Board prior to the course commencing).

Assessment procedure

Select your students carefully.

Set routines and make sure they are polished.

Each candidate will be responsible for arranging a suitable date with his/her assessor.

Each candidate will be responsible for payment of venue plus assessors’ expenses and fees.

You may use one student to demonstrate all choreographed routines or you may use a different one for each event.

Demonstrating students should be of Beginner/Novice standard. However, if he/she or they are above this standard, you must have been granted permission from the NBTA Technical Board prior to the course commencing.

Each candidate will be asked to include an absolute beginner in his/her demonstration team (if possible). This student will be used by the candidate to demonstrate his/her ability to communicate verbal and practical instruction to the beginner.

The assessor will ask the candidate to talk his/her way through whilst teaching a short selection of beginner twirls of the assessors choice (this is NOT set work).

The assessor will inform the candidate whether he/she has passed or failed the assessment and will send a copy of the report to you.

It is possible to fail in some areas of the assessment but this does not mean that you have failed the complete assessment.

The assessor will inform you of which area/s you have failed and give his/her reasons why.

Arrange another suitable date and venue to re-take the areas of assessment in which failure has occurred.
